Always start by redrawing the question and filling in the details that are given in the blurb. By doing this you will get an overview of what information you have to work with. This is a skill in itself and requires practice to be able to do it effectively.
Make sure to add information that is given as ‘text’ (not necessarily numbers). This could be something like “The object is in equilibrium” which allows you to write down that Fnet is equal to 0.
Try to think about how to answer the question and maybe try to figure it out yourself before just blindly rewriting the solution.
